The 1972 German Grand Prix was a Formula One motor race held at Nürburgring on 30 July 1972. It was the eighth round of the 1972 Formula One season. The 14-lap race was won by Ferrari driver Jacky Ickx after he started from pole position. His teammate Clay Regazzoni finished second and March driver Ronnie Peterson came in third.
