The 2016 Minor Counties Championship is the 112th Minor Counties Cricket Championship season, and the third under the name 'Unicorn Counties Championship'. It is contested in two divisions. Lincolnshire won the Eastern Division and will play Berkshire, the Western Division winners at the Getty Estate, Buckinghamshire.[1]

Cumberland are the defending champions, having won their third title in 2015.[2]

Standings

Format

Teams receive 16 points for a win, 8 for a tie and 4 for a draw. In a match reduced to a single innings, teams received 12 points for a win, 6 for a draw and 4 points for losing. Bonus points (a maximum of 4 batting points and 4 bowling points) may be scored during the first 90 overs of each team's first innings.[3]

Final

The final will be played on 28 August 2016 between Berkshire and Lincolnshire at the Getty Estate. Berkshire last won the title in 2008 and Lincolnshire in 2003. It is the first time the match is scheduled to be played over four days.[1]
