Abu Hummus, also Abu Humus, Abu Hommos, Abu Homos,[1] Abou Homs (Arabic: أبو حمص) is a town in Beheira Governorate, Egypt, an administrative center of markaz Abu Hummus.
It is named after a sheikh who was born and buried here. Abu Hummus spans between the Cairo-Alexandria Agricultural Road and the El-Mahmoudeya Canal.[2]
Markaz
Population of the markaz Abu Hummus was estimated 348,000 in 2007.[1] The markaz if known as the place of the famous Nakhla meteorite.
