Ahmad Al Ghazali Kohler, also known as Al Ghazali (born September 1, 1997) is an Indonesian DJ, singer, and the first son of musician Ahmad Dhani and singer Maia Estianty.

Early life

Ahmad Al Ghazali Kohler was born on September 1, 1997, in Jakarta, to musician and record producer Dhani Ahmad Prasetyo (better known as Ahmad Dhani) and singer Maia Estianty. Dhani had met Estianty while being a songwriter and record producer for her; Estianty was a disk jockey at that time. They eventually married in 1996. After marital issues cropped up between them in 2007, Al's parents subsequently divorced in 2008.[1] After the divorce, Al and his brothers – El Jallaludin Rumi (younger brother) and Ahmad Abdul Qodir Jaelani (youngest brother) – were under the care of Ahmad Dhani.

Career

Al Ghazali began his debut career for joining a rock group The Lucky Laki with his two younger brothers El and Dul in 2009, which formed by his father Ahmad Dhani. Al with his band had releasing debut single, titled “Superman” which making the band popularity in Indonesian chart song and launched an compilation album New Beginning 09.

In 2012, Lucky Laki had performed in Indonesian Idol of season 7 for singing Led Zeppelin’ “Black Dog”. Still same of year, the band return to releasing single “Aku Suka Bersama Orang Yang Aku Suka”.

In addition as vocalist, Al began played his debut film, titled Runaway[2] and also starring for several advertisement.

Al began his debut solo artist and releasing single, entitled “Kurayu Bidadari” and its single making him little popularity in Indonesian radio and chart song and also earning a nomination for Best of the Best Newcomer in 2015 Anugerah Musik Indonesia. Following debut single, Al return to releasing second single "Kasidah Cinta" with Eva Celia.

In 2015, Al had releasing third single "Lagu Galau" and making big successful in music industry. Its single had listed in compilation album Pop Best Seller which launched by label Pelangi Records.[3] After that success for its single, Al making two project sequel films in 2015: LDR and LDR Part 2: Where Is My Romeo. His brothers, El and Dul, formed a band named Ahmad Bersaudara in 2015.[4]
