Al-Azhar University – Doha
The Azhar University in Cairo and the International Academy of Sheikh Abdallah al Ansary signed in 2008 a treaty to establish an Azhar University in the Qatari Capital city of Doha. The New University will include for a start, the Linguistic and Islamic Sharia Studies. The University will be created with Qatari expenses, offering the Buildings and land area for the Project. The University will be the Second Azhar University branch outside of Cairo, following the Azhar University in Gaza. Another Azhar University is said to be planned in Amman, but talks are slow.?
