Life and career

Aleksandër Vezuli was born in Tirana, Albania, the son of Gliqeri and Kozma Vezuli. He began studying music at age 12, by learning to play guitar and later piano, double bass, accordion and drums. At the age 15 he started to write songs and classical music. He formed his own rock band "Sirenat e së Ardhmes" when he was 16 year old. This band (1970 – 1972) was stopped to perform after 2 years of life by the Albanian communist regime.

In 1973, after passing the audition, was accepted at the University of Arts of Albania where he studied music theory with prof. Albert Paparisto and composition with prof. Tonin Harapi.

After his graduation in 1977 was deported by the communist government for his western opinions in music in the rural villages of Fier, where he served as music and art teacher for 6 years. He returned to his city, Tirana, where he began to work, after he passed the required test for the job in the National Radio Television (1983 – 1990). During these years in 1985 he finished his master's degree in journalism at the University of Tirana.

Vezuli married in 1986 his lovely and only wife, Mimoza Pelushi, which gave him two children, Franz (b. 1987) and Alba (b. 1994)

In 1990 immigrated first in France, Belgium, and finally stopped in the United States where he lives with his family as an American citizen.

Vezuli is a member in ASCAP (US) since 1999 while keeping his membership as a composer in SABAM (Belgium).

His first publishing agreement with the Californian SRH Publishing Group for the song "Money Go ‘way" came in 1999, and the second one for the "Woodwind Quartet" (3 movements) in 2001 with DSM Producers, New York

Vezuli produced and released his first English album "Warmin’ Up The Globe" in 2007.

He continues composing music to today.
