Alexander Vladimirovich Politkovsky (Russian: Алекса́ндр Влади́мирович Политко́вский; born September 15, 1953) is a Russian journalist, political commentator, and teacher of the Moscow Institute of Television and Radio Broadcasting.^[1][2]

Since 1987 to 1991 - a special correspondent and presenter of infotainment program Vzglyad.^[3][4] He was one of the founders ^[5] TV companies VID^[6] (16,43 %),^[7] 1992 - Member of the Board of Directors of the company.^[8] He was elected deputy of the Russian Federation in 1990-1993.

Journalist Politkovsky pioneered a number of themes and names^[3]

On 7 October 2006 ^[9] in the elevator of his block of flats,^[10] his wife Anna Politkovskaya was killed by unknown,^[11] with which Alexander broke up a few years before the tragedy.^[12] Already in 2000, their marriage fell apart in fact, although officially was not terminated т.^[13][14] Believes that the crime will not be disclosed [46] and that there are people profiting from the killing.^[15] He has a son Ilya and daughter Vera.^[16]
