Alicia Dickenstein

Alicia Dickenstein (born on 17 January 1955, in Buenos Aires) is an Argentine mathematician known for her work on algebraic geometry, particularly toric geometry and tropical geometry. Currently, she is full professor at the University of Buenos Aires and serves as vice-president of the International Mathematical Union (2015–2018 term). Her book Mate max: la matemática en todas partes presents mathematical problems destined to young children.[1][2][3][4][5][6]

Dickenstein obtained her Ph.D. from the Universidad de Buenos Aires in 1982.[7]
