Anna Julia Kapfelsperger

Anna Julia Kapfelsperger is a German actress born in Portugal and raised bilingual with Portuguese and German.

Thanks to a student exchange program with Buenos Aires, Argentine, she is fluent in Spanish, too and also speaks French.

Kapfelsperger lives both in Berlin and Los Angeles after having received her Green Card.

Kapfelsperger started her acting career with age 12 as Dorothy in the English play “The wizard of Oz” .

She also gained stage experience with dancing, mostly the Spanish “Flamenco” for more than 10 years.

In 2013 she toured through Germany as Recha in Lessing’s worldwide known historical play “Nathan the Wise”.

After finishing the film acting school in Berlin, she got a lead in the successful soap opera “Among Us” (“Unter Uns”) where she shot two years in a row.

After that Kapfelsperger has established herself as a leading actress in Germany starring in some of the most successful movies and television shows in the country. She starred alongside Til Schweiger in “Kokowaeaeh”, one of Germany’s top grossing movies of all times.

Among many other films, she was one of the lead characters in the German TV show adaption of “The new adventures of old Christine”, nominated for the German Television Award. She played a lead in another very popular show in Europe, “Alarm for Cobra 11”, broadcast in over 30 different countries all over the world.

“Fruit flies” with her in lead brought her international attention. The short film acclaimed international success and won several awards, at the Sunscreen Film Festival in Florida and at the World Film Fest Houston, Texas among others.

In the U.S., her recent project is the short “Time to go” with Navid Negahban, known from “Homeland” and “American Sniper”.

In 2016 she shot the feature film “Unter deutschen Betten” alongside Veronica Ferres and Heiner Lauterbach. It will be released in German theaters in 2017.

In fall 2016 the first season of the new Sitcom “Rabenmütter” (“Rabenmütter”) with Kapfelsperger in lead is on air on Sat1, one of Germany’s biggest TV channels. It kicked off with amazing ratings.
