Anthony Zizzo

Anthony Zizzo or "Little Tony" was a high-ranking American mobster and a reputed member of the Chicago Outfit.[1]

At age 71, Zizzo disappeared after leaving his home on August 31, 2006; he was last seen outside a Melrose Park restaurant where his car was found after a missing person's report was made by his wife.[2] [3] He is presumed murdered,[4][5] although the FBI is also considering the possibility he went into hiding.[3]

Theories on why Zizzo may have been targeted include fears he might testify against the Outfit as well as an ongoing feud with Capo Michael Sarno, whom he was supervising.[3][5][6]

At the time of his disappearance, law enforcement believed Zizzo was the underboss of the Chicago Outfit as he was third in command in the 1990s.[1] The Outfit does a number of things like issuing high-interest loans, running illegal betting games (like a video poker racket), pulling off a strings of armed robberies, and protecting their gambling franchise by planting bombs in front of businesses that “encroached” on their turf.
