Apex Gaming or Team Apex was a League of Legends team that competes in the North American League of Legends Championship Series. The team qualified for the LCS after winning the 2016 Spring NA Challenger Series and promotion tournament. The team is coached by Brandon DiMarco and Alberto Rengifo. [1] Apex Gaming also has a League of Legends Challenger Series team called Apex Pride, which entered the CS after Team Dignitas transferred their NA CS spot to Apex.[2]

Apex beat Team Dragon Knights in the 2016 Summer NA LCS promotion tournament.[3]

On July 8, 2016 jungler Kevin "KonKwon" Kwon retired from professional gaming.[4]

On September 26, 2016 the Philadelphia 76ers announced their purchase of Apex and another eSports team, Team Dignitas.[5] The Apex Gaming roster was announced to now be playing under the Team Dignitas banner.[6]


2016 Roster

Apex gaming joined the North American League of Legends Championship Series (NALCS) in the summer split of 2016. The roster currently consists of Ray in the top lane, Shrimp in the jungle, former Gravity player Keane in the midlane, former Team Impulse Player Apollo as Adc and Support player Xpecial. Apex gaming placed 7th in the North American League of Legends Championship Series and will be competing in the NALCS during the spring split. [7] The team was a close contender to qualify for the Regional Gauntlet, but was shy to Team EnVyUs.

Members Information

Ray

Ray is from Korea and was recruited by Apex Gaming due to his impressive Solo-que results in Korea. He is one of the main carries on the team and has many surprising off meta picks. He is famous for his top lane Jarvan in the NALCS.

ShrimP

ShrimP is also a recruit from korea and is a strong jungler.

Keane

Keane is a former Gravity Player. After gravity disbanded their organization, Keane was recruited by Apex Gaming. Keane is a primary carry on the team and had was very popular for his midlane Urgot on Team Gravity.

Apollo

Apollo is a former Team Impulse player. After Team impulse disbanded their organization, Apollo was recruited by Apex Gaming.

Xpecial

Xpecial was forced to leave Team liquid. After he left team liquid, he moved to Apex Gaming. He played in the challenger series and now is playing back in the NALCS.
