Arts, Beats and Eats

Arts, Beats & Eats is a U.S. Labor Day Weekend festival. In December 2009 it was announced that in 2010, the festival would be held in Royal Oak, Michigan.[1] It has been held in downtown Pontiac, Michigan streets in storefront businesses and at the Phoenix Plaza Amphitheatre. In 2005, the festival celebrated its eighth year. The festival is sponsored by local businesses, including DaimlerChrysler, the naming sponsor. Proceeds from Arts, Beats & Eats benefit local charities; an estimated 1.7 million had been donated in the first seven years.

A juried arts exhibition, food court, concert stages with local and national acts and a charity preview gala highlight festival programming. In 2005, families were treated to special fun in the Family Village, including the following play zones:

Programming begins Friday afternoon and ends Monday evening.

In 2005, Oakland County picked a demonstration provider for Wireless Oakland, a county-wide wireless net planned by Oakland County leadership. The Wireless Oakland project team the week of Monday, August 22, 2005 announced the selection of MichTel Communications L.L.C. to provide free wireless Internet service during the Arts, Beats and Eats Festival in downtown Pontiac over the Labor Day Weekend.
