Ashitey Trebi-Ollennu

Dr. Ashitey Trebi-Ollennu is a Ghanaian born resident of the United States of America. He is a robotics Engineer at NASA and is the leader of a team that designs robots for NASA missions.[1]

Ashitey Trebi-Ollennu was born in Ghana and begun his education at the Ghana Secondary Technical School. He was the leader of the team that designed the Mars Rover robot that landed on the red planet.

In an interview on BBC, Dr, Ashitey Trebi-Ollennu noted that he had started a project in his home country of Ghana to make a more likable and fun subject. He worked on the Phoenix (spacecraft) that found water on Mars. He is currently working on robots for the InSight mission.[2]

He has received lots of awards.,[3][4]

In 2011 Ashietey formed the Ghana Robotics Academy Foundation (GRAF), a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to motivating and inspiring the next generation of Ghanaians' interest and participation in science and technology.[5]
