Nguyễn Thị Thanh

Bạch Liên also known as Nguyễn Thị Thanh (1884 - 1954) was a Vietnamese clerk in the French Army. She was the older sister of Ho Chi Minh a Vietnamese Communist revolutionary leader who was prime minister (1945–55) and president (1945–69) of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam and the younger sister of Nguyễn Sinh Khiêm (or Nguyễn Tất Đạt), a geomancer and traditional herbalist. Like Ho's brother, Nguyễn Thị Thanh also had trouble with French authorities with her anticolonial activities.[1]
