Barbara J. Vigil

Barbara J. Vigil is a justice on the New Mexico Supreme Court. She was elected to the court on November 6, 2012, and was sworn in in December to fill the remainder of retired Justice Patricio Serna's unexpired term.[1] That term expires on December 31, 2016, and Vigil must stand for retention by voters to remain on the bench.

Vigil filed to stand for retention in the 2016 elections.[2]

Education

Vigil received her bachelor's degree in accounting from New Mexico State University and her J.D. from the University of New Mexico. Prior to being elected to the bench, Vigil operated a private practice in Santa Fe.[3]
