The Barnes-Hill House is a historic house at 12 North Brookfield Road in Spencer, Massachusetts. It is a 2-1/2 story wood frame structure, five bays wide, with a side gable roof, central chimney, clapboard siding, and stone foundation. A two-story wing extends to the left, and a 1-1/2 story wing extends to the right and partially to the rear, giving the house a partial saltbox profile. Thought by local historians to date to the 1760s (supposedly built by David Barnes), it was more likely built c. 1800. Its most prominent owner was Sullivan Hill, owner of a local chair factory, who is said to have introduced the cane-seated chair to Massachusetts.[2]
The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016.[1]
