Bathgate Academy is a secondary school in Bathgate, West Lothian, Scotland. Approximately 1,000 students are taught from ages 11–18, serving the needs of several communities including Blackburn and some communities outwith the catchment area such as Livingston.

History

Established by John Newlands in the mid-18th century, the school was originally located on Marjoribanks Street. The current building dates from 1831 and was designed by R & R Dickson.[1] This building was taken over by West Lothian College in the 1960s, when the school moved to its current location. The Academy was also used as annex to Balbardie Primary School in the 1960s and 70s.
