Batković (Serbian Cyrillic: Батковић) is a village in the City of Bijeljina, Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina.[1]

Concentration camp

Batković village was the site of the Batković camp, believed to be the first concentration camp in operation during the Bosnian War. It was run by Serbs from 1 April 1992 until late January 1996.[2] The prisoners were predominantly Bosnian Muslims, who were tortured, sexually assaulted, and killed by Serbs.[3][4]
