Belgium national football team results – 2010s

In the 2010s, the Belgium national football team missed out on both the 2010 World Cup and Euro 2012, but improved greatly in the next years. They secured qualification for the 2014 World Cup with an impressive unbeaten record, and achieved sixth place at the finals: their second-best result ever (after reaching fourth in 1986). The improved results led to Belgium reaching the top position on the FIFA World Rankings for the first time, in November 2015.

The overall balance so far (as of 13 November 2016) is positive with 45 wins versus 14 losses and 16 draws.

Cancelled matches

A friendly against Spain was canceled the night before it was planned to take place, due to the terror threat following the November 2015 Paris attacks.[7] The very next game, a friendly against Portugal on 27 March in Brussels, was about to suffer the same fate after the 2016 Brussels bombings on 22 March, but it was instead moved to Leiria, Portugal (see above).
