Benjamin Douglas Bowden (born October 21, 1994) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Colorado Rockies' organization.

Career

Bowden attended Lynn English High School in Lynn, Massachusetts, where he played for the school's baseball and basketball teams.[1][2] As a senior, Bowden was named the state's high school baseball player of the year.[3]

Bowden enrolled at Vanderbilt University to play college baseball for the Vanderbilt Commodores. In the summer of 2015, Bowden pitched for the Yarmouth–Dennis Red Sox in the Cape Cod Baseball League.[4]

The Colorado Rockies selected Bowden with the 45th overall selection of the 2016 MLB draft.[5][6] Bowden agreed to a $1.6 million signing bonus with the Rockies,[7] and made his professional debut with the Asheville Tourists of the Class A South Atlantic League.[8] Bowden finished 2016 with an 0-1 record and a 3.04 ERA.[9]
