Benthochromis tricoti is a species of fish in the Cichlidae family. It is endemic to Lake Tanganyika and lives off shore in water over 100 meters depth. It feeds on small crustaceans and plankton. It reaches a maximum length of around 15 cm. Like many other cichlids, it is a mouthbrooder.
