Billtrust, headquartered in Hamilton, New Jersey, is a provider of payment cycle management[1] solutions for business. It specializes in a cloud-based invoice presentment, payment, and cash application.

History

The privately-held company was founded in September 2001 by Flint Lane.[2] In November 2012, Billtrust announced a $25 million investment from Bain Capital Venture for strategic acquisitions,[3] and in June 2015 Goldman Sachs announced a $25 investment.[4]

Acquisitions

Since inception, it has invested and acquired multiple companies with funding from Bain Capital Ventures and Goldman Sachs.

In 2013, Billtrust acquired Best Practice Systems out of Englewood, CO.[5] Billtrust acquired a second Colorado based company, Open Scan Technologies,[6] in 2014 and merged Open Scan’s Cash Application service and expanded the company’s invoice-to-cash efficiency. In February 2016, Billtrust announced the acquisition of C-TABS,[7] SaaS data management solutions provider, of Fountain Valley, CA.[8]

As of 2016, Billtrust employs over 300 people.[9] Billtrust is headquartered in Hamilton, New Jersey with additional offices in Chicago, IL, Denver, CO, and Fountain Valley, CA.
