Botswana has competed in eight Summer Games. Botswana's first appearance was in the 1980 Summer Olympic Games, in Moscow. They have never competed in the Winter Games. Botswana won its first medal at the 2012 London Olympic games with Nijel Amos getting a silver in the 800m.
