Buddleja davidii 'Flaming Violet' is an old American cultivar raised by Paul Schmidt at Youngstown, Ohio, and patented in 1942. [1]

Description

'Flaming Violet' typically grows to a height of 2 m. The terminal panicles are violet-blue, 2025 cm long. The foliage is a medium green, typical of the species.[2]

Cultivation

In the UK, 'Flaming Violet' remains uncommon.[3] A specimen is grown as part of the NCCPG national collection held by Longstock Park Nursery in the UK.[2] Hardiness: USDA zones 69. [3]
