Burjeel Hospital [1] is Abu Dhabi’s largest private tertiary hospital and is part of the [2] VPS Healthcare group is a Private Tertiary Hospital located in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Clancey Po is the chief executive.[3]

History

Burjeel Hospital started operations in 2012 and has 30 specialties. Its Key centers of excellence are cardiology, pediatrics, ophthalmology, ivf, gynecology and obstetrics, orthopedics and sports medicine as well as vascular centre. The Facility is spread over 65,000 square meters and has 202 beds.

The Jackloc Company of Claybrooke Parva supplied 300 of its window restrictors which reduce the risk of falls from open windows to the hospital in 2015.[4]

Expansion Plans

[5] Burjeel Hospital is planning a $1.5 billion expansion that will include 4 hospitals, five specialty centers and 10 medical centers in the next 10 months.

Burjeel’s upcoming Reem Island daycare facility in the Gate Towers will have same day surgeries and will also have a dialysis unit. It will have 16 beds. Construction of Burjeel Medical City in Mohammed bin Zayed City will alone cost Dh1.4 billion and is expected to be ready in the next two years. When fully operational, it will have 400 beds, with oncology one of its key specialities.
