Calandrella is a genus of lark in the Alaudidae family.[1] The current genus name Calandrella is a diminutive of Ancient Greek kalandros, the calandra lark.[2]
It contains the following species:[1]
- Greater short-toed lark (Calandrella brachydactyla)
- Blanford's lark (Calandrella blanfordi)
- Erlanger's lark (Calandrella erlangeri)
- Red-capped lark (Calandrella cinerea)
- Hume's short-toed lark (Calandrella acutirostris)
Formerly or presently, some authorities have classified the following species as belonging to the genus Calandrella:
- Obbia lark (as C. obbiensis)[3]
- Sclater's lark (as C. sclateri)[4]
- Stark's lark (as C. starki)[5]
- Masked lark (as C. personata)[6]
- Botha's lark (as C. fringillaris)[7]
