Playing career

Todd first played for the ECSL Heat of the junior East Coast Super League (ECSL) in 2010.[1] The following season Todd signed with the ECSL's Reach Rebels, finishing the season with 27 points in 13 games.[1] In 2012 Todd signed on with the Sydney Bears of the Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL) however the Bears opted not to play him in the 2012 AIHL season, leaving Todd to play another season in the ECSL with the Rebels.[2][1] Starting the 2013 season Todd continued to play for the Rebels but in a reduced capacity after he was promoted to the Bears main squad to play in the 2013 AIHL season.[1]

Todd was first selected to represent Australia in 2011 where he joined the national under-18 team to compete in the 2011 IIHF World U18 Championship Division III Group A tournament being played in Taipei City, Chinese Taipei.[3] Australia won the tournament, earning promotion to Division II for the following year. Todd recorded 14 points in five games and finished with the tournaments best face-off percentage of 70.10%.[3][4] The following year Todd again played for the national under-18 team to compete at the 2012 IIHF World U18 Championship Division II Group B tournament. Todd was named captain of the team and again finished with the best face-off percentage tournament, with 72.63%.[1][5][6] In 2013 Todd was selected for both the national under-20 team to compete in the 2013 World Junior Ice Hockey Championship Division II Group B tournament and the national senior team to compete in the 2013 IIHF World Championship Division II Group A tournament.[7][8]
