Cayman Islands International Film Festival

The first Cayman Islands International Film Festival, also called CayFilm, was held in the Cayman Islands from 18–20 June 2015.[1] An introductory event in 2014 was attended by Terrence Howard and Jon Chu.

About 600 films were submitted to the festival from more than 50 countries. Of these, about 200 were selected to be shown;[2] among them were some 30 locally-made films.[3] The opening event was a showing of the film "Serena".[4] The prizes were given by Alexa Vega and Carlos Pena.[4]

The festival included workshops with Loren Carpenter, Brian Cox, James V. Hart, Paul Schrader and Wes Studi.[4] Reno Wilson attended.[5]

CayFilm is a member the Caribbean Association of Film Festivals.[6]
