Chartered Institute of Development Finance

The Chartered Institute of Development Finance (CIDEF) is a professional association which engages with academic institutions, development finance institutions, and related agencies to support and maintain ethical conduct and professionalism in the development finance discipline globally.[1] CIDEF is also responsible for awarding the Chartered Development Finance Analyst designation to development finance practitioners and theorists with advanced knowledge of the discipline.[2]

The institute was launched on 7 November 2013 at the Global Development Finance Conference at the President Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa.[3]

On completion of the Master of Commerce in Development Finance degree at the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business, students are considered for Chartered Development Finance Analyst (CDFA) accreditation by the Chartered Institute of Development Finance.[4] [5]
