Chernobyl Way

Chernobyl Way (Belarusian: Чарнобыльскі шлях, Russian: Чернобыльский шлях, Чернобыльский путь) is an annual rally run on April 26 by the opposition in Belarus as a remembrance of the Chernobyl disaster.

The first time it was run in 1989 with demands of urgent efforts in eliminating the consequences of the catastrophe.[1]

On the 10th anniversary of the catastrophe the rally was held the first time during Lukashenko's presidency. The rally was dispersed by OMON and its activists were arrested.[2]
