Chicken on a Chain

Chicken on a Chain is a retired bucking bull who won the 2007 bucking bull of the year, and the 2015 Brand of Honor. He bucked for 7 years, a total of 127 times; 33 of those times he was ridden. Chicken on a Chain finished his impressive career with 130 outs (80 of them were at "Built Ford Tough Series" events). The 2007 World Champion Bull holds a career average of 45 points per out and has arguably become the most popular bucking bull in Professional Bull Riding (PBR) history. He is the only bucking bull in PBR history with more than 100 outs and an average career score of 45 or higher. Despite the recent surge in popularity for the three-time World Champion Bull Bushwacker, Chicken's legacy remains as one of the most popular figures in the PBR.

Appearance

Chicken on a Chain was a huge bull, and in his stock contractor's own words, he was described as, "impossible to miss." Black with lighter brown spots, he had big horns, described as baseball bat sized by those who have been hit by them. With a big white stripe that went all the way down his face, he weighed in at more than 2,100 pounds, and was called a freak of nature by many of the top PBR riders of the world because of his massive size, and an athleticism that matched his beastly strength.

Bucking style

A bull of his size shouldn't have been able to move as quick as he did. He was fast, and could move in any direction he wished - in any amount of time. He bucked really hard, and had the attitude of a mean bull.

Career

Chicken on a Chain began to buck in 2005. By 2007 he hit his peak buck-off percentage and was voted the World Champion Bull that year. That same year, he bucked off a career best of 94.44 percent of the riders. He was only ridden once, when Justin McBride made for 93 points. But his most famous outing was when Renato Nunes rode him in St. Louis at the Championship Round for 95.75 points. The impact Chicken made during his career is comparable to what Ray Lewis did for the Baltimore Ravens, or how Shaquille O'Neil was a game changer for basketball.
