Choi Sungmin (born on December 7, 1995), better known by the mononym Sungmin, is a South Korean actor, rapper, singer, and dancer. He was member of South Korean boy band SPEED and South Korean Coed group Coed School.

Biography

Choi Sungmin was born on December 7, 1995 in Gwangju, South Korea. He graduated in Anyang High School of Art on February 7, 2014.[1] Sungmin attended Plug-in Music Middle School and entered Joy Dance Academy.

Sungmin made an appearance on SBS's variety show Star King and performing his powerful and amazing dance skills. After seeing his performing Core Contents Media recruited him into the agency. He became the tenth member of Coed School in 2010.[2]

Career

2010–12: Coed School and Speed

Sungmin made his debuted as member of Coed School in 2010. The group official debuted on September 30, 2010. The group later separated into female unit and male unit.

Sungmin debut as a member of Coed School male unit, Speed in 2012. The unit made their first performance on Music Bank on February 17, 2012.[3]The unit later became an independent group after Core Contents Media has not plans reform Coed School again.

2013–present: Solo activities

Sungmin made his acting debut in the KBS Drama Special Something Like That in 2013[4] He was cast as Yeom Chi-joo in KBS drama My Dear Cat in 2014.

In late-2015, it was reported that Speed was disbanded after their profile was removed from MBK Entertainment website, but MBK Entertainment has not confirmed the reported.

On June 26, 2016 Talent agency Star Camp 202 announced Sungmin as a new actor under the agency on their Instagram.
