City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong

The City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong was founded in Hong Kong in 1999. The chief conductor is Jean Thorel, who has held the post since 2008.

Background

The CCOHK was founded in 1999 by oboist Leanne Nicholls, who is also the artistic director.[1] It is known for having a very large repertoire spanning many different styles.[2] Jean Thorel, the chief conductor, was appointed in 2008. Previous guest conductors include German Guiterrez, Carlos Checa, Andrew Sewell, Anthony Inglis, Andrew Massey, Philip Walsh, Nicholas Routley, Peter Leech, Bill Conner, Richard Honner, Richard Harvey, Lorenzo Colitto (guest concertmaster), Francis Kan, Veiga Jardim, and David Gwilt.
