      Story

      "THE YEAR IS 2020
      THE PLACE, SEOUL

After the invading dimensional monsters were beaten back, Seoul was rebuilt. This is the story of Closers in New Seoul.
Mysterious dimensional gates opened all over the planet and unleashed a worldwide invasion of dimensional monsters. No monsters and tactics had any effect on the waves of dimensional monsters pouring out of the dimensional gates. City after city was mercilessly destroyed.
But the opening of the dimensional gates did not only cause damage and destruction. The psychokinetic power that it awoke also enabled a tiny minority of humans to gain extraordinary psychic powers. With these psychic warriors, governments around the world were able to turn the tide of the war with these monsters. After unspeakable losses, the people of earth at least succeeded in closing the gates. Since they had closed the gates, these psychics began to be called "CLOSERS," and the invasion of the dimensional monsters was named the First Dimensional War.
With the dimensional monsters vanquished, peace returned to the world, and the cities were rebuilt. Through dedicated research into the dimensional gates and psychokinetic power, humans learned that the gates open when there is a singularity in this mysterious power. However, their understanding of the gates was still incomplete. The CLOSERS who survived the First Dimensional War became part of an organization called UNION. Together, they researched the psychokinetic power in all over the world, working to prevent another dimensional war.
And that's when the dimensional gates all over the world started shaking again - as ever stronger outbreed creatures renewed the attack on earth." [1]

      Gameplay

Closers gameplay mostly revolves around the usage of skills, with a very basic ground, dash, jump, dash jump combos used mostly for the purpose of resource regeneration.

      Player vs. Environment

You will travel around New Seoul defeating Dimensionals and fulfilling missions assigned by various NPCs.
All Player vs. Environment gameplay is performed in instanced dungeons that you may enter by speaking to a certain NPC in each of the towns.
At the moment, all Season 1 Towns have been released: Gangnam GGV, (Old) Guro Station, Singang High School, G Tower, and Season 1 Epilogue. There is also a Max Level Zone, Plane Gate.
The current max level of Wolfdog in Korean version is 58, and Black Lambs's max level is 62.(2015.10.11)

      Dimensional War

A Player vs. Player mode similar to MOBA where you may play as a Dimensional or a Closer, and attempt to destroy the other team's main tower before they do.

      Characters

Characters in Closers are split into teams. As of now, there are only two teams: UNION's Black Lambs, and Vulture's Wolfdog.

      Black Lambs

"The story of CLOSERS begins with the high school students who are members of Black Lambs, the UNION squad active in New Seoul. Your duty is clear!
PUT ON THE UNIFORM OF A BLACK LAMB AND BECOME THE CLOSER AND PROTECT NEW SEOUL FROM THE INVADERS!" [1]

      Lee Seha: Striker

(Korean: 이세하) Also known as Haruto Kaguragi (Japanese: ハルト カグラギ) in the Japanese version
Armed with a gunblade, Lee Seha is capable of obliterating foes with defense-piercing bullets while protecting himself with a large amount of damage-reducing skills.

      Background

"Seha's mother was one of the legendary CLOSERS who helped bring the Dimensional War to an end.
Everyone tells him he is the Black Lamb with the highest potential psychokinetic power, but he isn't able to fully tap into that power yet - and to be honest, he doesn't even care enough to try.

He feels constant pressure from everyone around him who expect him to be as every bit as good as his mother.
He wouldn't even have gotten involved with the Black Lambs if his mom hadn't made him.
For Seha, being a Black Lamb is just another aggravating extracurricular activity he has to do.

What he really loves is playing video games, and you're unlikely to see him without some kind of controller in his hands.
In fact, his friends are starting to think he might be getting addicted." [1]

      Lee Seulbi: Caster

(Korean: 이슬비) Also known as Mikoto Amamiya (Japanese: ミコト アマミヤ) in the Japanese version
The leader of Black Lambs; armed with two knives, Lee Seulbi is capable of destroying multiple foes at once with large-scale AoE attacks. She is also capable of sending foes flying with her special Bit Generation system.

      Background

"Orphaned during the Dimensional War, Seulbi grew up in an organization administered by UNION.
She was selected for the Black Lambs after participating in a youth training program for CLOSERS run by the same organization.

Her potential strength may not be quite as high as the other members, but through backbreaking effort and practice she has learned to wield her power quite skillfully.
In fact, in this regard, she is rated at least two levels higher than her peers.

It was that assessment that earned her the spot of the leader of the Black Lambs. She is a bit of a perfectionist, though, and this often puts her in conflict with Seha." [1]

      Seo Yuri: Ranger

(Korean: 서유리) Also known as Yuri Asuma (Japanese: ユリ アスマ) in the Japanese version
Armed with a gun, katana, and Kendo expertise, Seo Yuri is capable of storming across the field, tearing apart enemies with gunshots and swords slashes as she goes.

      Background

"Yuri was a pretty normal kid, growing up in a pretty average household - at least until she found out she had the makings of a CLOSER around the age of 15.
This was quite unusual - the signs usually show up at a much earlier age.
But even before Yuri's topological power manifested, she had been a national kendo champion, Trouncing the competition with her skill.
Her physical acumen overshadows anyone else her age, which got her noticed and earned her spot in the Black Lambs project.

Unlike other members from the squad, who have been honing their skills from an early age, Yuri is still having trouble putting her abilities to use.
As a result she fights with the aid of a specially designed protector and various firearms while she keeps progressing through her topological tests.

She's a cheerful and outgoing kid, and a little naive, too.
She signed up for the Black Lambs, convinced by promises that her work would land her a steady government job and that she wouldn't have to worry about going hungry." [1]

      J: Fighter

A veteran of the First Dimensional War armed with knuckles, J is capable of punching and pushing around his foes while tanking every incoming hit. Due to his weakened state from the First Dimensional War, he uses HP instead of MP as a resource.

      Background

"The Black Lambs only accept minors, but J is an exception. He was sent by UNION to support the other members, and little is known of him but the fact that he was a CLOSER who fought in the Dimensional War.

His real name and age remains as a mystery, though it is clear from the songs and the celebrities that he likes that he's at-least in his thirties.

J's job is to take part in the fighting with the other members and, in the event that something goes wrong, to take the lead and make sure that they all make it back home alive.
He suffers from a number of conditions believed to be lingering injuries from the war, and he's a lot more frail than he looks.

J is often seen taking vitamins and pills of uncertain identity, and he often complains about sore shoulders and coldness in his hands.
The other Black Lambs are dying to know his real name and age, but no matter how hard they try, no one has been able to make it past his defenses to get to that prized information."[1]

      Misteltein: Lancer

The mascot of Black Lambs; armed with a large spear, Misteltein penetrates his foes, takes hits, and summons spears around the battlefield which grant beneficial effects, aiding his allies in battle.

      Background

"Misteltein is the youngest ever Closer agent admitted into UNION. Since birth, Misteltein has had extremely potent psychic powers.
Due to this, the UNION has had an eye on him for a long time.
He was transferred from Berlin's UNION branch to New Seoul's UNION branch to join the Black Lambs." [2]

      Wolfdog

"BE A WOLF OR DOG" [3]

      Nata: Hunter

(Korean: 나타) Also known as Slash (Japanese: スラッシュ) in the Japanese version

      Background

"The year the Dimension war ended, using preparation against Dimensionals as an excuse, UNION conducted forced phase power enhancing experiments on children orphaned during the war.

In a top secret project, many of these orphans received phase power enhancing surgeries. These children were confined in a research lab, receiving intense experiments and were instructed to fight for their lives against other child specimens. Children that couldn’t withstand the experiments were disposed of or were killed by other fellow specimens. As these children struggled to survive in this kind of environment, they couldn’t form bonds with one another and identified each other as enemies.

Nata, one of these children, stubbornly held on to his life in that hellish environment until he reached the age of 13. Then the project was terminated due to UNION policy changes and everything related to the project including the lab and specimens became targets for disposal. While they were killed all around him by the Closers agents that attacked the lab, Nata resisted to the bitter end. But even he fell as he ran out of stamina. When Nata came to he was in a UNION’s containment facility. The reason Nata was spared was simple: UNION noticed Nata’s superior survival instincts compared to other specimens and decided to make use of him instead of killing him.

After that, UNION used Nata in some unofficial secret missions. But Nata showed enormous reluctance to take orders from somebody else and didn’t carry out his missions properly. So in the end, Nata ended up running away after killing his superior officer that was harassing him. However, Nata was captured once again by Closers agents. UNION decided that Nata cannot be controlled and planned to execute him.

But just before the execution, Vultures noticed Nata and contacted UNION asking to buy Nata from them for an enormous price. UNION accepts this deal and Nata was now in the Vultures’ disposal squad, the Wolfdog team. Nata became furious about how all of this was decided against of his will and ends up attacking Trainer, the Wolfdog team leader. But Trainer instantly suppresses Nata and attaches a Phase pressure generating choker on him.

Due to the tight choker on his neck that emits electric shocks whenever he refuses orders, Nata had no choice but to obey Trainer and the Vultures. But even then, he couldn’t throw away his desire for revenge and freedom. Also, his competitive desire to pay back Trainer for making him feel such a shameful defeat was burning in his heart. Nata made a promise to himself. One day he’ll dispose of UNION, Vultures, the Disposal squad, and Trainer with his own hands." [4]

      Levia: Witch

      (Korean: 레비아)

      Background

"After the Dimension War, in France after being devastated by Hecatoncheires, 6 giant oval shaped eggs were found in one seaside cave and were sent to UNION’s research facility. Researchers couldn’t figure out what was inside the eggs but arrived at a conclusion that the eggs will possess much stronger power as more time passed. Facing this conclusion, UNION’s researchers demanded immediate destruction of the eggs. But one of the researchers who was fascinated by the life cycle of Dragon’s Legion, takes the eggs that were fated to be destroyed and runs away. This researcher is later scouted by Vultures and in there performed experiments in to hatch the eggs. However most of the eggs couldn’t withstand the Inner Dimension’s pressure and were destroyed. Only one egg endured the Dimensional pressure for 5 years before it finally hatched.

Surprisingly, a being that hatched from the egg looked extremely alike to humans and despite being a Dimensional, it was born with Type 2 Phase power that humans used. The researcher conducted various experiments on this Dimensional who thought of the researcher as its parent. Even after going through experiments that were basically tortures, the newly hatched humanoid Dimensional obeyed her parent researcher and soon her obedience to the researcher evolved into obedience to the entire human race. As the years passed, the humanoid Dimensional’s body and phase power continued to grow. Eventually, Vultures started to fear her as the she grew stronger. In the end, Vultures’ leaders decide to dispose of her to get rid of a potential threat. During the disposal process, the researcher that hatched the egg was murdered. The Dimensional witnessed this scene and went on a rampage exploding her phase power, resulting in the death of almost half of the Disposal squad. The situation was controlled when Trainer, leader of the Wolfdog team, finally managed to knock her out.

When she came to, after hearing about how her parent died and that she caused the death of many humans, she was overcome with guilt and wished her life would end. She wished to die because she thought it was the only way to atone for her sin. Vultures’ upper command also requested Trainer that he disposes of her. But Trainer requested that because the Disposal team’s fighting forces have been greatly damaged because of her, that they allow her to be temporarily become member of the Disposal squad. After a long negotiation, Trainer’s request was accepted. After capturing the humanoid Dimensional, Trainer named her Levia and included her into Wolfdog team as a temporary member. Fearfully, in aguish and hesitantly, she starts disposing of her own kind, the Dimensionals. She’ll continue to be obedient to Trainer and dispose of her own kind. Until the day Vultures’ upper command changes their mind and orders her to be disposed of." [5]
