coin co is a bitcoin payment processor headquartered in New York City that allows businesses to accept bitcoin, yet receive U.S. dollars. It was founded in 2014 by bitcoin entrepreneurs Alex Waters and Yifu Guo. Coin.co was created under Coin Apex, a bitcoin company incubator.[2]

History

On May 28, 2014, McLaughlin & Stern, a major U.S. law firm, announced that it had partnered with Coin.co to accept bitcoin payments.[3] On June 13, 2014, The King's College became the first U.S. based college to accept bitcoin, which it did through Coin.co.[4][5] On July 15, 2014, it was announced that Coin.co had launched a WHMCS plugin.[6]

In early February, Coin.co announced that former United States Mint Director Edmund C. Moy had joined the company as an advisor.[7][8][9]
