Dauda Bortu (born 4 September 1996 in Monrovia) is a Liberian footballer who plays as a forward for the Norwegian team Bærum SK. Dauda Bortu Arrived in Baerum, Norway on August 28, 2008 at the age of 12. Upon arrival, he was not fully an admirer of the sports called football though he knew the game owing to the promoting of the sports through the soccer artistry of the Liberian National team when it almost represented Africa at the 2002 World Cup. Liberia´s dream was narrowed by the 2-1 loss it sustained at Samuel Kanyon Doe Stadium at the hands of the Ghana Black Stars. Another factor that made him admired the game was the name George Weah, a Liberian and African who made his name in Europe by winning the World Best Player award in 1995. Before Coming to Norway, Dauda attended the St. Mary Catholic School in Duala, Bushrod Island where he build interest in playing basketball and play the game during his spare time. In Norway, upon Arrival, he request his dad, to take him to the closest basketball court where he could practice on a regular basis. He was informed to drop that dream but instead concentrate on soccer or football because its the European game. Hauger FC was his first team, and there he demonstrated his hidden talents as a winger and striker. He was perfect with his speed and dribbling skills. later in 2009, he joined Baerum FK and fitted perfectly in the team players of aged 13. Gradually he matured and at present play for the senior team. In 2014, Baerum FK went to the payoffs and almost gained promoting to the Norwegian senior league but missed out. The team was however relegated to the second tier a year later but is galvanizing to get back to the first division.

International career

Bortu was born in Liberia, but raised and naturalized as a Norwegian citizen. He was called up and capped by the Liberia national football team in a 5-0 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying win against Djibouti.[1]
