David Tom Donato is an American singer known for his involvement in Black Sabbath. He recorded several demos with the band and rehearsed throughout 1984 and 1985. Contrary to reports,[1] Donato was not fired after an interview with Kerrang! magazine as many have falsely reported. The band fell apart soon thereafter, with Tony Iommi forming an entirely new Black Sabbath the following year.

The Donato demos still remain out of the public domain, with the exception of a 1985 rehearsal session featuring Donato, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward which surfaced online in 2006. This session was produced by Bob Ezrin.

After Black Sabbath, Donato agreed to join the glam metal band White Tiger with former KISS guitarist Mark St. John who was in a band with Donato prior to joining Kiss. [2]
