Derek Falvey

Derek Falvey is an American baseball executive for the Minnesota Twins of Major League Baseball.

Falvey is from Lynn, Massachusetts. He attended Trinity College, and played college baseball for the Trinity Bantams as a pitcher, pitching to a 10.61 earned run average in 18 23 innings pitched for the Bantams between 2002 and 2004, while suffering from shoulder injuries.[1] He graduated with a degree in economics in 2005.[2]

Falvey began working for the Cleveland Indians as an intern in 2007.[2] He remained with the Indians, working in the amateur and international scouting departments.[3] During the 2011–12 offseason, the Indians promoted Falvey to co-director of baseball operations, along with David Stearns.[4] In 2016, the Indians promoted him to assistant general manager.[5]

After the 2016 season, the Minnesota Twins hired Falvey as their executive vice president and chief baseball officer.[6]
