Devar Yamjal, along with its sister panchyats Hakimpet and Eligela-Gudemis a village in Ranga Reddy District, Telangana, India. It falls under Shamirpet mandal.[1] The village is one of the biggest villages in the mandal.

Devara Yamjal is a village in the tehsil/mandal of Shamirpet in the Rangareddy district of Telangana.

Devar mean temple in Hindustani Language.

Nearest city from Devera Yamjal is Secunderabad. Devera Yamjal is situated right next to Air force Station Hakimpet, distance is approximately 16 km from Secunderabad station and 8 km from Bolaram, which is the nearest railway station. The following bus numbers are very frequent from Secunderabad: 211DY, 211DMC, 211P and 211R. Other means of transport like taxis and autos are also available. Nearest airport is Begumpet - 18 km.

This is a beautiful village (it is still a village) closest to the Secunderabad city. The biggest village in the mandal and is completely surrounded by greenery. This place was once visited by Queen Elizabeth in the early 1980s and is a favorite destination for many directors who frequently visit for film shootings. Numerous hit films with top tollywood actors are shot here.

This village has an Historic Ramalaya temple, it also has a very big gundam which is one of its kind. A very famous Sai geetha ashramam is also located in this village.

Farming is still the primary occupation for most of the people with all farm lands surrounding the village. Many people travel to city daily for work and maintain an urban lifestyle.

The village has all the required facilities. There are many famous schools and educational institutes in and around the village like Kendriya Vidyalaya Hakimpet (Central school), Shiv Shivani Public school and college, IVY League, Evergreen High School,Shameerpet etc. with good transport facilities. There are also many known hospitals and clinics near this village like Mediciti hospital, Balaji Muti specialty hospital etc. Village has good transport facility. There are frequent buses to the Secunderabad city and nearest villages and other modes of public transport like autos are easily available.

It is an ideal and peaceful village situated between NH7 and Rajiv Gandhi Rahadari (interstate highway) and is right next to Air Force base.

The village has an oldest LORD RAMA temple and every year FETE/ FAIR is done during April/may immediately after srirama navami. People do celebrate with enthusiasm vinayaka chavithi and many a ganesh pandals are raised with lord ganesh Idols and will be immersed after 9 to 21 days in the POND. The village is also famous for may grape orchards which serve many consumers every season.The village is well versed will every facility the people need and also renowned for its school which serve kids from nearby villages too. A modest library, Veterinary hospital, huge water tank, oldest shiva and rama temple are the ICONS of the village.

The people

As usual like any village 90% of the entire village population is middle class and even below average and many are daily laborers and workmen in the nearby towns and cities. many a families are agrarian based ones and the workforce generally commute to twin cities to eke out their living everyday.

All the people are friendly and cordial and accommodating.

This village is the largest among all the other villages in both population as wells as in its area among all in the mandal. Its proximity to both NH-7 and Rajiv Rahadari (SH-1), the village abridges both the thoroughfares for the transporters.

Politics

Currently the major political parties which are active in the village are congress and TDP. TDP is in power as of now since 2013

Sree Seetha Ramachandra Swamy Devalayam

As per history of the place and temple this 700-year-old temple was constructed under the supervision of Akka and Bukka and both been the prime ministers under the then Kakatiya Dynasty. The name Devar means temple in Hindustani language. The meaning of Yamjal is unknown. Together Devar and Yamjal means Yamjal that has temple (Temple Yamajal). The specialty of the Temple is the architecture, the ablution pond (Gundam) and the Jaya Vijaya engravements on the entrance of sanctom sanctorum are one of the rare styles. The jaya vijaya engravements are found with four hands and that's rare in any Rama temple con temporarily built, you won't find that even at bhadrachalam. The gundam has 27 sub temples and each for a Nakshtram, which is also a rare sight at any temple in the state. There are 12 aalwar (Vaishnava Guru's) statues in the sanctum of the temple and that's unique too.

EkaMukha Veeranjaneya Swamy Devalayam

The village has two hanuman temples, one in the heart of the village and in its ambience we have navagrahas too, this eka mukha veeranjaneya is a very powerful god and ardent disciples won't give up praying to him every Saturday. Every now and then shanti homas and yagnas are done in the temple. Another anjaneya temple is at the precincts of the village near burial grounds and here at this temple during the vijaya dasham.

Government School

The village is a microcossmic hub for educational activities to all the nearby villages too. The Zilla Praja Parishad unnathta paatashala is the oldest and in fact the best one in the entire mandal. Pupil who once learned their basics in this temple of education with their running noses and innocuous looks, gullible gaits and naughty acts are really proud of their alma mater. To name a few some of its students have gone abroad and got well settled and prospered. One notable example is Dr. Madireddi Malla Reddy who studied at this School went on to become a Professor Emeritus at one of the world famous Universities (The University of California San Diego, USA). This School also produced numerous Doctors and Engineers such as Dr. B. Prahlad Rao, Dr, Narsing Rao, Dr. Malliah and Dr. B. Anand Rao who once served as the famous head master of the high school). Owing to the intense competition from the private education system and entire change in the modern education, ugly politics have rendered the School as ineffective in the modern age and still it has the potential to deliver on par with any modern schools, in fact techno schools provided the parents and the village heads can chalk a suitable action plan for the modernization of the school education system and encourage English medium as the means of imparting the same to the kids..hopefully we can see that change very soon. The school ground is the most spacious one covering swathes of land starting from the water tank till the potters colony.

The primary school is in the heart of the village and till date many kids flung to the it and flag hoisting is done by the sarpanch every year in August 15. Its a good school too.

Private Schools

A popular school, Siva Sivani Public School also has its campus in the village.

The village also has few private schools like Vignan Bharthi ( Baby's Convent School) St. Mary's Convent School, and Evergreen High School,Shameerpet, which do offer their services to the children imparting primary education.

People mainly send their children's to many an English medium school outside the village, Places such as shameerpet,bolarum, lothkunta and tirmulgherry.
