Dimitrios "Dimitris" Kalogerakos (Greek: Δημήτρης Καλογεράκος; born 7 June 1996) is a Greek professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Spanish club Lugo Fuenlabrada and he has represented his country at under-17 level.[1] He is considered as one of the brightest Greek football talents in his position.

Born in Athens, Greece, Kalogerakos began his career at the age of 16 with Apollon Smyrni FC[2] when he appearanced in his first professional friendly game in September 2012 with the senior team. The same season (2012–13) that Apollon Smyrni FC[3] won the Greek Football League[4] title. Being as one of the most promising goalkeepers in his age, the football manager Luciano de Souza trusted the 17-year-old goalkeeper to play for Egaleo FC[5] in the Greek Football League 2[6] for the season 2013–14. At the end of the season he moved to the United States for Real Salt Lake participating in the MLS US Soccer Development Academy,[7] where he made impressive performances.

Kalogerakos returned to his native Greece to join AOT Alimos FC in Greek Football League[8] for the 2014–15 season. During the U20 final against AEK Athens sustained a serious fracture at the right greater trochanter of his right foot, due to his collision over an iron object near to his goal line. He returned the next season playing for Ilisiakos FC in Greek Football League 2.

As he has reported from his young years, he has always been interested for finding opportunities to play abroad. So, at the beginning of 2015–16 season he wandered in the Swedish Allsveskan and then at the Spanish League, preferring to sign for a Spanish club.

On August 2016 he made a deal with Lugo Fuenlabrada, which is based in Madrid. He started the 2016–17 season as the undisputed first goalie for the Spanish club.

Outside football

Kalogerakos owns an Olympiacos FC football academy[9] in Athens, which collaborates with Olympiacos FC Youth Academy.
