Dona Sarkar is the Leader of the Windows Insider Program at Microsoft.[1] Dona Sarkar attended University of Michigan, where she studied Computer science. After she joined Autodesk in internship where she made the company’s popular AutoCAD software into a free web preview version. [2]

At Microsoft

In 2005 Dona joined Microsoft as a software engineer for the Windows team.[3] Later she worked as the lead developer for Windows Vista on device-focused features like AutoPlay, Bluetooth and Blu-ray integration into Windows. In Windows 7 and 8, She was responsible for the Windows search experience. She managed the teams that created the search box in Windows 7’s Start menu, the File Explorer tool and the Open/Save dialogs. She led the evolution of search in Windows 8 for tablets and for finding apps, files and settings. She also has made the integration of user feedback into Windows her specialty, having led Windows beta and community programs for years. Later she led the developer engagement program for Microsoft HoloLens, enabling enthusiasts to make rich holographic experiences on the Universal Windows Platform. She taught for Microsoft’s Holographic Academy and recently created the inaugural #HoloHacks Hackathon event in Seattle. [4]

On 2016 July 1 Dona took over Gabe Aul as the Head of Microsoft's Windows Insider Program.[5]

Other

In addition to being an engineer, Dona is an aspiring fashion designer, a fashion blogger, a speaker and an author of four published books, which include two novels, a novella and a career advice book.[6]
