Edward T. Green

Edward T. Green (1837 – October 10, 1896) was a United States federal judge.

Born in Trenton, New Jersey, Green graduated from Princeton University in 1854 and read law to enter the bar in 1858. He also received an LL.B. from Harvard Law School in 1858. He was in private practice in Trenton from 1858 to 1889, interrupted by service as a Sergeant in the United States Army during the American Civil War.

On October 24, 1889, Green received a recess appointment from President Benjamin Harrison to a seat on the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey vacated by John T. Nixon. Formally nominated on December 16, 1889, Green was confirmed by the United States Senate on January 27, 1890, and received his commission the same day. Green served in that capacity until his death, in 1896, in Trenton, New Jersey.
