Emily Larson is an American politician from St. Paul, Minnesota, and the current mayor of Duluth, Minnesota. She is a member of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, and is Duluth's first female mayor.

Biography

Early life and education

Larson was born in St. Paul. She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from College of St. Scholastica and a Master's Degree from the University of Minnesota-Duluth.

Political career

Emily finished first in the 2011 at-large city council position, and has served as President of the Duluth City Council.

Mayor of Duluth

Larson was elected mayor of Duluth in November 2015 with 71.9 percent of the total votes.[1] She was inaugurated on January 4, 2016, at a ceremony held at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center.[2]

Family

Emily is married to Doug Zaun and have two children, Gabe and Eli. Doug is the Co-Owner of Wagner Zaun Architecture.[3]
