Awards Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross

Engelbert Bockhoff (17 May 1913 – 26 January 2010) was a highly decorated Oberstleutnant in the Wehrmacht during World War II and a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Engelbert Bockhoff was captured by American forces in May 1945. He joined the Bundeswehr in 1956, and retired in 1969 as an Oberstleutnant.
