Awards Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross

Erhard Nippa (7 February 1922 – 27 June 2003) was a highly decorated Oberleutnant in the Luftwaffe during World War II and an Oberst in the Bundeswehr. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross, which was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Erhard Nippa joined the Bundeswehr in 1956 and retired in 1981 as an Oberst.
