Eugen Buktenica

Eugen Buktenica (1914–1997) was a Croatian painter. His works can be found at the Croatian Museum of Naïve Art in Zagreb.[1] He was born in Grohote on the island of Šolta. The nature and life on the island in the Mediterranean provide most of the subjects of his paintings. His aim was to fix his homeland, the island, and the village onto canvas. Buktenica's paintings were alluring because of their spontaneity, perception and fantasticality.
