The European Council for Business Education (ECBE) was founded in 1991[1] as an independent, not-for-profit organisation[3] headquartered in Belgium.[4] The aim of ECBE is to accredit schools of business from across Europe to ensure excellence in business education and teaching. ECBE's accreditation process is based upon self and peer evaluation, aimed to ensure the continual improvement of educational quality. ECBE is overseen by a Board of Directors elected from the accredited members. A separate Board of Commissioners, independent of the Board of Directors are selected to oversee the application of procedures and the awarding of accreditation. ECBE is a registered affiliate of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA).[5] and Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) International Quality Group (IQG)
