FC Tacoma 253 was an American association football (soccer) club based in Tacoma, Washington. Founded in 2014, it competed in the Northwest Conference of the National Premier Soccer League, a national league on the fourth-tier of the American Soccer Pyramid. In 2015, after one season of play, the team relocated to Seattle and rebranded as OSA FC.[1][2]

It was affiliated with a women's team of the same name (formerly AC Seattle), which competed in the Women's Premier Soccer League. Both were run by OSA Soccer Academy, LLC, who continues to oversee the new incarnation of the club as OSA FC.[3]

History

The team's inaugural match was on February 20, 2015, in a qualifier for the 2015 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, in which the club defeated Oregon-based Spartans Futbol Club 2-1 at Starfire Sports.[4] On March 22, 2015, in its second match, FC Tacoma beat San Diego Flash 6-1 at Memorial Stadium (Seattle), which officially qualified it for the 2015 U.S. Open Cup.[5]

In its first-ever league match, FC Tacoma drew 1-1 against Real San Jose at home on March 28, 2015. Abdi Galgalo scored the team's opening NPSL goal.[6]

The club's first notable signing was of Oussama Essabr, a Moroccan product of the Juventus F.C. Youth Sector. Shortly thereafter, the club acquired Italians Marco Dugo, Gianmarco Peressini, and Stefano Layeni.[7][8][9]

FC Tacoma faced the Kitsap Pumas on May 13, 2015 in the first round of the 2015 U.S. Open Cup, in an eventual 5-2 loss. Steven Wright scored FC Tacoma's first ever goal in the tournament, while Pedro Milan picked up the second.[10]

The team finished their first ever season in 1st place in the Northwest Conference, which secured qualification for the 2015 NPSL West Region playoffs.
