On the night of the final Rieu performed third in the running order, following Ireland and preceding Germany. "Et bonjour à toi l'artiste" was a gentle, melodic ballad, often cited as the most sophisticated song in the 1975 contest. At the close of voting it had picked up 91 points (including maximum 12s from Ireland and Portugal), placing France 4th of the 19 entries. The French jury awarded its 12 points to the United Kingdom.[1]
