Awards Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross

Friedrich-August Weinknecht (5 October 1895 – 26 October 1964) was a highly decorated Generalleutnant in the Wehrmacht during World War II who commanded several infantry divisions. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Friedrich-August Weinknecht was captured in August 1944 during the Second Jassy–Kishinev Offensive
